Do you know?

Do you know what you are doing?

Do you know why you are doing what you are doing?

Do you know if you really want to do what you are doing?

Do you know if you want to do something else that you are not doing?

Do you know why you want to do that something else that you are not doing?

Do you know how you can do that something else that you are not doing?

I do not.

Do you know what you are doing?
I think I know, but struggle to do what I'm doing. I'm here to learn, but I'm afraid I'm not learning that much. I'm yet to find myself an ambition that will drive my actions.

Do you know why you are doing what you are doing? Yes. I am here to learn how to systematically find the answer to a question. I want to spend my life answering questions.

Do you know if you really want to do what you are doing? I'm sure I want to make my contribution by finding answers to questions and helping people make sense of and use those answers. But, I don't know how I want to do it. Whether academics is the way ahead or something else.

Do you know if you want to do something else that you are not doing? Do you know why you want to do that something else that you are not doing?

I know lots of things i want to do. I'm interested in these things. I feel I can offer something. Its all related to contributing something. If you feel that this is something you want to see happen, and you feel you can help, you want to do it.

Do you know how you can do that something else that you are not doing? Two-three things need to be put in place before I can do what I'm not doing but want to do. First, I must be capable of giving time to it by managing my time properly. Second, I must find a mechanism to contribute. Some potential cause-effect relationship - somebody who will read my work if I write, or benefit when i act, or whatever. I cannot sit in my room and do anything but with myself. And finally, third, I must have a clear ambition. Its all right to be 'interested' but unless there is something concrete you want to do, you can't start. I have lots of interests, but not any ambitions yet.

Well, this may be complex for few and simple for others..Its important to reflect and ask questions to yourself and your post definitely does that. Though at times or many times, one may not be aware of "what they are doing", its best way to discover one's potential in this journey.

Having said that, there is one point where you should know.. For me it relates to many things but most important of all i feel is managing my time whild doing several things or one thing. If one can figure out that, it will be a good start.

I think even if you think you know what you are doing, there comes a time when you question what you are doing... but if you can be happy doing what you are doing, that should be it.

Of what I want to do - i think i just want to make a difference in the lives of people i love and care for..I think i m striving, struggling and failing constantly..

I do know what I am doing....I also know what I want to do that I am not already doing.....the struggle is to understand and come to terms with the limitations...... the struggle is to fight against the odds to overcome some of those limitations.....
If I was asked to be really really profound :) I would have said "in short" that the struggle is what they call life.

Well.. I do not either..

I can perhaps relate to the doubts and questions mentioned, having been used to pondering over these. Somehow found a strange sense of freedom every time I ignored the urge to find reasons for all that the "mann" wanted to do..

Apparently, being a fickle minded person never really allowed me answer any of these questions properly..

so.. Most of the why questions got answered by "Mann kiya (I feel like)"..
and the if questions got weak responses like "I guess / Not really"..
the how questions were always interesting. they resulted in either spirited and creative responses.. or the bored "dunno" response..
