This 3 min video perhaps tells us a truth. Whatever we see through others' eyes, whatever we learn from books and many other sources is not comparable to what we learn by ourselves. That is something which is more likely to stay with us as an enduring understanding. And I think I believe in this thought.
To add to it I would say it is the mistakes I make that teaches me more than anything else. I may or may not always know what to do. But because of the mistakes I would know what not to do and perhaps that's what counts.

I don't know that to what extent this concept can be applied.
But certainly I enjoyed the video. This all we have been through and today what we are is the sum product of those countless interactions that we had with people and situations around. Keep sharing stuff like this, it freshens up the thought process.
